Education Ministry bans paid make-up classes in schools

“The Ministry of Education in China has announced a new regulation that bans any paid make-up classes organized by primary schools or middle schools. Some schools have been offering Paid Make-up classes for an extra-curricular activity, but there have been complaints of teachers forcing students to take these paid classes.

According to the regulation, teachers in any primary or secondary school should not request their students join any paid-for training courses organized by the school.

If there are any complaints of a violation of this regulation, the school and the school authorities involved will be stripped of any honours or titles they have received in the past.

The regulation will be strictly enforced during summer and winter breaks when make-up classes are frequently offered.”
